A Near-Fatal accident happened this morning, Wednesday, 10th June 2020 along the ever-busy Nnewi-Nnobi Road by Okwuana Cathedral.
A Tanker driver of Great Vmax Oil and Gas Ind.Ltd was said to have hit a bike rider and his passengers. This happened in the wake of the morning rush. According to an eyewitness, the bike rider was trying to overtake the tanker before the accident occurred.
The bike rider and one of the passengers sustained injuries while the little boy that accompanied the passenger, was fortunate to have escaped unscathed. According to many, the little boy of not more than 10 years escaped miraculously as the tanker tyre would have crushed him. His mother/grandmum as the case may be was not too lucky as the tyre ran over her hands as she lost some fingers.
The accident drew sympathizers that came in their droves to apportion one blame or the other. The bike rider and the woman, his passenger was rushed to the hospital.
As at the time of writing this report, the road is now free as sympathizers have left the scene of the accident to allow ease of movement.
In another story, five persons were feared d**d in a ghastly motor accident at Upper-Iweka in Onitsha Anambra state.
Many others were said to have sustained varying degrees of injury in the incident which involved a Mack-trailer loaded of goods.
It was gathered that many people were still trapped under the vehicle.
“About five people already confirmed d**d, others injured. A rescue operation is ongoing.
“The Acting Unit Commander Onitsha has contacted Julius Berger for their crane.”
