This season, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has proved that age is just a number. In January, he returned to AC Milan at 38-years-old, signing a six-month contract to the end of the campaign.

Not much was expected from the Swedish striker, who arrived in Serie A from LA Galaxy Past his best, some said. Ready to retire, others claimed.

But Zlatan has netted 10 goals and provided 5 assists in 19 appearances, becoming the focal point of Milan’s attack as they secured Europa League qualification with a fixture to spare.

He’s impressed so much, that the club are now set to extend his deal far beyond this summer.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, per The Sun, Milan are ready to DOUBLE Ibrahimovic’s salary and offer him a two-year deal.

certain appearance and performance-related targets are met, the contract could see him earn up to £104,000-a-week until he’s 40-years-old.

Imagine being so good that your club offers to double your salary at the age of 38. Only Zlatan.

But he’s certainly earning that money and in fact, has offers from elsewhere in Europe should he want to move.

The former Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United forward joined Milan on a short-term deal in December, but there is uncertainty over his long-term future.

Rossoneri head coach Stefano Pioli is keen to keep the player at San Siro, with a move to Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza or a return to his native Sweden having also been mooted.

It has also been suggested Ibrahimovic could retire when the 2019-20 Serie A season concludes in August, just two months prior to his 39th birthday.

However, in an Instagram video published recently, Ibrahimovic said: “So you think that I’m done, that my career will soon be over.

You don’t know me. “All my life I had to fight. No one believed in me, so I had to believe in myself.

“Some people wanted to break me, but they only made me stronger. Others wanted to exploit me; they only made me smarter. And now you think I’m done?

“To all of you, I only have one thing to say: I’m not like you, because I’m not you. I am Zlatan Ibrahimovic and I’m just warming up!
