The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi has revealed that the Ebonyi shopping mall is being constructed with the same magnificence and splendor as the famous Dubai mall in UAE.
The governor made this known during the inspection of the site earlier in the week in Ebonyi state.
Recall that the governor said the state will build the biggest shopping mall not just in the South-East but the whole of West –Africa in order to give Ebonyi state a new face lift.
Governor Umahi during the inspection, highlighted some of the facilities and amenities that would make the Mall an exceptional shopping Haven; one that perfectly merges fun and business, he gave details of the mall saying;
“We have games of over 200 million already purchased for adult and children. We have six escalators, we have over eight lifts. A cinema is also there, children’s playground, food court for the adult at about two to three locations. Exotic boutiques, Chinese, Lebanese, and African restaurants…different intercontinental cuisines. There are going to be offices, showrooms, supermarkets in the basement.”
Explaining the structure of the mall, Umahi further described that “It’s a 5-level building. “We have the basement, ground floor, first, second and third floor”
He also stated that there will be warehouses to house some of the products being purchased, and there will be enough space at the back of the mall for other contingency plans.
When asked the completion date of the project, Governor Umahi stated that ‘Definitely by, November 2020 the structure will be ready.
The governor revealed how a potential investor proposed a deal that wasn’t going to favour the State, He said: “We had to do it ourselves…we had to believe in ourselves and we made it possible.”
The mall is set to stimulate the provision of goods and services and create at least 3000 jobs and generate wealth for the state.
