Andrea Pirlo is already taking decisive measures even though he is yet to manage an official game since becoming the Juventus boss with latest reports that contracts of Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira have been terminated.

It was gathered that this makes it three players that will be leaving the club in just about a week as Blaise Matuidi earlier left to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami in MLS.

Juventus released a statement confirming Pirlo’s appointment, adding that the decision was “based on the belief that the club legend has what it takes to lead squad.”

A number of big names were rumoured to be in line for the job including ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and Lazio boss Simeone Inzaghi.

Pirlo ended his European football career at Juventus where he played between 2011 and 2015, winning four Serie A titles in the process.

He was particularly famous for his great eye in midfield and superb free-kick ability. The Sun are reporting that football journalist Fabrizio Romano disclosed that exit talks are ongoing as Higuain and Khedira now seek a payout.

Juventus are currently facing serious financial problems and they have given Pirlo the obligation of reducing that wage bill.

Reports also have it that former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey also has his future at the club in doubt as it understood the Welshman pockets £400,000 weekly since joining the club in 2019. Veteran striker Higuain is the club’s third highest earner with an annual salary of £6.7m.

The Blues signed 18-year-old defender Xavier Mbuyamba on a free transfer having gone clubless early last month.

Barcelona parted ways the teenage sensation after just one season with the academy last month and the Stamford Bridge side was able to secure his services.

However, SunSport reports that Mbuyamba whose deal expires in 2023 has been dubbed the new Virgil van Dijk owing to his impressive display on the pitch.
