Two women have lost lives on Friday, August 21, when a container fell from a truck and landed on a commercial bus at Odo Olowu area, Ijesha bus-stop in Lagos. The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, speaking on the incident, said the agency received a distress call at about 9 pm that an empty 40-feet container has killed two persons in an accident. It was learned that the truck loaded with an empty 40-feet container, suffered brake failure, rammed into the stationary commercial bus, and subsequently fell down.

Director-General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Musa Nuhu, has said that incoming passengers would have to pay for COVID-19 tests before arriving Nigeria from August 29. A woman has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for killing her newborn baby by throwing him into a pit toilet. The 30-year-old woman, identified as Franca Udokwu from the Obuba Obofia Nkpor community in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State was arrested by police operatives in Ogidi Division, on August 22. The arrest was based on a local tip-off.

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested five suspected cultists in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State, found with human skulls. Danjuma Elisha, Cross River state commandant of NSCDC, said the suspects were apprehended following a raid on a compound in the Ogoja area.
