Transfer: Crotone Sign Ogenyi Onazi On 3-year Deal

Newly promoted Italian League club Crotone have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ogenyi Onazi on a three-year deal.

The 27-year-old joined the Pythagoreans on a three-year deal from Turkish league side Denizlispor this summer.

Onazi who was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title passed medical at the club before putting pen to paper.

The Stadio Ezio Scida side will count on the former Lazio midfielder’s expericne in their Serie A contention next season. Before returning to Italy, the player had terminated his deal with Denizlispor following the club’s failure to pay his wages.

Onazi joined them in January on a six months deal with an option to extend his reign with another year but he decided to walk away from them over wage issues.

He will join his countryman Simeon Nwankwo who has been with the club since 2016 and finished as the Serie B highest goals scorer with 20 goals in the 2019-20 seaosn.

Anaedoonline.ng earlier reported that Premier League side Tottenham are interested in Nigerian midfielder Wifred Ndidi and they are ready to go for his signature during the ongoing transfer businesses.

Jose Mourinho and his wards failed to win any title last season and they were also unable to finish among the top four teams on the final League table.

The former Chelsea manager wants to bolster his squad before the start of the coming Premier League season so that Spurs can compete for titles.

One of the areas Jose Mourinho is said to have identified as key for reinforcement is the midfield and believes Wilfred Ndidi would help his team.
