The Member representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly has urged Nigeria Youths to wake up from slumber and take charge of leadership in Nigeria.

The Lawmaker who was the keynote speaker in the 2nd Anniversary Lecture of Anaedonline, today, Saturday 29th August, 2020, said that it is regrettable that it appears that the political leadership in Nigeria has continued to recycle among few individuals in the last 30 years.

He expressed sadness on the situation whereby the youths are constantly been manipulated by the ruling class just for peanuts.

Nonso Okafor who spoke extensively on “The place of youths in politics and economy”, said that with a great population of able-bodied and enterprising young people, Nigeria youths should be in pole position in deciding the future of Nigeria.

“We cannot continue to allow the analogy to operate in a digital age, especially when our country is populated by youths who can do things differently”

Emphasizing on how youths can do things differently, the young lawmaker said that young Nigerians should understand that power is taken not given, noting that most young people think that leadership position should be a birthright or inheritance.

“We must learn how to support each other, we can form synergy of our skills, talents and Innovation to manage our future”

“If we study about how Singapore transformed from a third (3rd) world country to become a country to reckon with, how Lee Kwan Yew was able to galvanize young people into turning the fortune of their country, then, changing Nigeria won’t be a problem if we determined to take charge of our future”

Speaking on the economy, the vibrant legislator noted that politics cannot be separated from the economy, he noted that a single policy of government can collapse businesses, and that is the more reason youths should take more interest in politics.

Speaking he said, “For our youths, I believe that we can take control of the economy, if we use innovations to drive our different businesses”
