In Ile-Ife, Osun State police have rescued an undergraduate and 47 children from a baby factory camouflaged as an Orphanage. The state government has sealed the baby factory where women were impregnated and their babies sold off by the management.

 

The Kaduna State Police Command has disclosed the number of applicants who have undergone physical screening exercise for its 2020 recruitment. The command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mohammed Jalige said about 12,921 applicants have been screened. Jalige disclosed this to newsmen, on Monday in Kaduna. He said 17,000 applicants are expected to undergo physical screening in the state.

A fresh leadership crisis is hitting the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo as Daniel Nwafor, factional chairman of the ruling party in the state, has been suspended. Nwafor, who is the chairman of APC in Imo recognised by the former governor of the state Rochas Okorocha, was handed marching orders over alleged gross indiscipline and insubordination.

 

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi‘s led government of Enugu State is to spend a sum of N210 million naira in the refurbishment of toilet facilities at the international wing of the reconstructed Akanu Ibiam Airport (AIIA) Enugu, Southeast Nigeria. This was disclosed to newsmen at a media briefing held during the weekend in Enugu by the Southeast Governor’s Forum (SEGF), Committee on the Airport Rehabilitation/Palliative Works, which said the present state of the toilets is embarrassing to the airport.

 

A Benin High Court on Monday admitted seven men who allegedly invaded the Edo House of Assembly complex on Aug. 6, to bail in the sum of N500, 000 each. The police charged Wilfred Ogbewe,52, Igbinobono Collins, 26, Salami Osayomore, 25, Odion Osayande, 23, Morgan Uwanboe, 47, Ifeoluwa Oladele, 36, and Agbonrere Festus, 25 with the alleged invasion of the state house of assembly premises in Benin, in a manner that caused a breach of peace.

It was a black Sunday yesterday at Lambatta in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger state when a fuel tanker exploded, destroying over 50 shops. The tanker which was said to have been loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, exploded on crashing with a trailer around 11 PM on Sunday

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has been elected the new Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa States, ECOWAS. Akufo-Addo was elected as the new ECOWAS Chair at the ongoing 57th Summit in Niamey, Republic of Niger. Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari had during the summit cautioned ECOWAS leaders not to elongate their tenure in office beyond constitutional limits, noting that it is an area that generates tension in the subregion.
