They say musicians tell the future and story of a people through their songs, just like Fela did, in the case of DVJ 4Mula he told the story of our today Nigeria in a single he released in September 2019 titled Obodo Na Esi Isi.

The Song “Obodo Na Esi Isi”  which literally translates as “the country is smelling” couldn’t have resonated more with the audience than at a time like this. With the recent #ENDSARS protest wave across the country, and the subsequent lawlessness that broke out as a result of hoodlums hijacking the movement, and the killing of peaceful protesters, the country has been thrown into chaos.

Obodo na esi isi sounds like the foretold coming of Christ, as it captures the present state of the society now. Taking a verse from the song

The video aptly illustrates the rot in our system, from the settings to the visual message, like a prophecy,  it shows a time where everyone comes together to make Nigeria better as we saw with the protest irrespective of tribe, religion, or gender. The artiste revealed that he was inspired to pass this prophecy along to the people about our nation.

Indigenous rapper Igboegwu Ifeanyi Victor aka DVJ 4Mula,  is a graduate of the University of Jos, and a native of Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government in Anambra state. He started out his music career as a professional DJ in his undergraduate days in the year 2000.

In an interview with Anaedoonline.ng, he disclosed that like every other Nigerian family, his parents were hostile in the early days of his music career as the only child of the family but have come to welcome his choice seeing his strides and achievement in the industry.

He made his entrance into the music industry with his debut song titled 4Mula in 2010. Inspired by things around him and listening to other great artistes, he has produced 7 songs and counting. He draws his inspiration heavily from the likes of David Guetta, DJ Tiesto and coming down to Nigeria music legend 2Face and DJ Jimmy Jatt.

DVJ 4Mula is currently working on his album and on a song with popular Yoruba singer Oritshefemi. As a content creator, he writes and produces his songs himself. We hope to see more prophetic songs from him.
