Mikel Arteta watched haplessly from the sidelines as his side was battered 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium by Aston Villa in a Premier League fixture on Sunday, November 8, and fans want Mesut Ozil to return to the squad.

The tactician who recently recovered from the coronavirus is reportedly down with home sickness, but the fans of the club are having none of this as their chances of a top four finish are looking unlikely.

This makes it their second straight home loss in the English topflight following their defeat in the hands of Leicester City as the Foxes edged them 1-0 two weeks earlier.

Although Mikel Arteta’s side won their Europa League matches at home to Dundalk and Molde, they are clearly struggling in the league.

Despite their 2-1 PL victories against both West Ham and Sheffield United at home so far this season, the Gunners have been far from impressive.

As they head into the international break, Arsenal are in the bottom half of the Premier League standings having managed to get just 12 points from 8 matches so far; four points below Southampton in fourth and already six behind leaders Leicester.

There seem to be a major problem with goals as the Gunners have not scored from open play in over a month – with forward Alexandre Lacazette failing to score in his last six games.

He also blew away a glorious opportunity in the cause of the clash against Villa when his header was skied way over the bar.

Also, former Chelsea star Willian missed a sitter during the game to confirm why he was ousted by the Stamford Bridge club.

Arsenal’s major striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed to even register a shot in the entire 90 minutes as he looks less hungry throughout the game.

Fans have called for the return of Ozil as they claim the team lacks creativity which the German will bring to the team.
