The Nigerian Police Force has said that the aide in the security detail of the Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, who shot a newspaper vendor dead is not their member.
This was said by ASP Mariam Yusuf, the Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command while clearing the air on the incident.

Yusuf said, “Contrary to the misleading information, preliminary investigation into the unfortunate incident reveals that the security aide who shot at the vendor is not a member of the Nigeria Police Force.”
The newspaper vendor was killed after the men in the security detail of the Speaker opened fire to disperse a group of men obstructing their convoy.
