A suspected hoodlum who hijacked the EndSARS protest in Benin, the Edo state capital and stole a gun from a police station, has been arrested by the Police in the state for armed robbery.
The suspect identified as Sunday Effiong was arrested at the state police headquarters on Monday, November 23.
Effiong was identified in a viral video that captured him leaving the Oba Market police station with an AK-47 rifle after he and other hoodlums had raided the police station on October 19.
Police claim the suspect then formed a robbery gang that has been terrorizing Benin city and environs.
