Serie A: Napoli Won’t Risk Osimhen’s Return

There are strong indications that Napoli is not ready to hurry Victor Osimhen into action after it was confirmed that the Nigerian experienced a series of complications that may have prolonged his recovery time.

Osimhen got injured during the AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Sierra Leone on November 13 and he has been out of action since returning to Italy as he has been undergoing physiotherapy and gym exercise.

According to Carlo Alvino of Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Coach Gennaro Gattuso is ready to follow medical advice on the return date for Osimhen.

“Napoli does not intend to risk him in these matches that are missing at the end of the year. Precisely on that Napoli-Torino, last of the calendar year, I would think about it. But in agreement with the boy and with the medical and technical staff, in order not to run the risk of a relapse, Napoli will take every day useful for a total recovery of the player.”

Also, Corriere dello Sport in yesterday’s edition wrote that the Nigerian has experienced a series of complications that have prolonged the recovery time.
