The Senate on Tuesday, February 9, adjourned its plenary to honour a late lawmaker, Ossy Chinedu Prestige. The lawmakers adjourned the sitting to Wednesday, February 10.

The adjournment followed a motion by the Senate leader, Abdullahi Yahaya, who cited Order 43 and made reference to the demise of Hon. Ossy Chinedu Prestige, who represented Aba North/Aba South federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

The Senate leader said: “It is our culture in the Senate and National Assembly in general that when this kind of thing happens either in Senate or @HouseNGR, we observe a minute silence and adjourn plenary in honour of our late brother and friend. May his soul Rest In Peace.”

The plenary was adjourned after the senators observed a minute of silence in honour of the deceased lawmaker.
