The Anambra youths for Democracy in Conjunction with the office of the DG for youth mobilization, Technology and innovation Anambra state, has on Saturday, 6th March 2021, held an event of the Anambra Youths Summit 2021 With the theme ‘Harnessing Anambra youths for political and Economic Development’. The event took place Marble Arch. Hotels Okpuno, Awka, Anambra state.
The keynote of the event was given by Mr. Cornel Osigwe-Head of Corporate Communication & Affairs Innoson Group.

Speaking at the event he said, “The greatest Tragedy that can happen to a generation is when it’s present generation of people fails to discover it’s mission and not fulfill it. Nations fail to achieve their dreams and fulfill their destiny when the present generation fails to take or accept responsibility.”
Mr. Osigwe also called on the executive Governor of Anambra state, Gov. Willie Obiano, to urgently sign the Youth Development Bill to enable the state truly harness the creative power of it’s Youth.
The auspicious event which had high profile citizens, political leaders, dignitaries and of course a great number of youths in attendance, was centered on awakening the burning desire to build a nation where peace and Justice shall reign.
Among many other assertions, In a panel discussion, Dr. Justin Nwankwo, a Lecturer, Fed. Polytechnic Oko, told his ordeal and encounter with the SARS group during the Protest, how he was been arrested and detained for eight (8) days in their custody. He encouraged the Youths to speak up always as the outpour of their experiences would help their healing process. Miss Chiamaka Nwaogu also, in the panel discussion, opined that the Youths to keep the synergy and consciousness awake so as to win the battle ahead.
Still on the panel discussion, the last speaker Mr. Tochukwu Obiadi spoke on the need to become cardinal as a youth, in his words “The Youths should create values, make impacts and become reference in the eye of the society.” “Gone are the days when they say youths are the leaders of tommorow, we’re in today, so we should as well shoot towards becoming the leaders,” he added
Other speakers at the event include: Hon. Dr. Pete Ibida, a member of the House, representing Njikoka 2 constituency. He spoke as a guest and at the end of his speech supported the AYD with the sum of a hundred thousand naira. Ifeanyi Aniagoh, DG Anambra Digital Entrepreneurship Office, Chidiebele Obika and SA to Governor Obiano on Media, (represented Hon. Uchenna Okafor, Commissioner for Trade and Commerce) were presented. Jude Ezenwafor SSA to Governor Obiano on Political Matters was also in attendance.
Part of the attendees also includes; So many youth representatives in the persons of, Innocent Nduanya, the Deputy President NYCN. Morgan, the Deputy Chairman of NYCN, Anambra state chapter, amongst others.
The event which left the Youths equipped with knowledge came to an end with an avalanche of benefits and contributions from a great of those in attendance.
