Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, says he is satisfied with the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos turf, venue of the national team’s final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho on March 30.

The Eagles, with the exception of in-form Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, who is yet to arrive, engaged in their first full training ahead of their all-important AFCON qualifier against Benin Republic at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo.

The game is billed for Saturday.

On a wet turf after a drizzle, the team engaged in several programmes under the watchful eyes of the Franco-German tactician and his assistants.

“The pitch is very good for football,” Rohr said after the training on Tuesday.

“The boys like it and the surface is wonderful and green. I said it before when I came here, they have worked on the grass and it is very good.”

Galatasaray forward Henry Onyekuru also commended the standard of the pitch.

“The grass looks very good,” Onyekuru said.

The Eagles entertain Lesotho in their final Group L fixture next Tuesday in Lagos in a game that could be inconsequential if the three-time African champions pick at least a point against the Squirrels in Porto Novo.
