Imo state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief (Engr) Charles Ugwuhas praised the former Governor of the state as he marks his 56th birthday.
A congratulatory message, signed by the PDP boss reads:
The State Working Committee, on behalf of the leadership, stakeholders, and entire members of the Peoples Democratic Party, Imo State, joyfully felicitates with our leader, brother, and friend, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON, on his 56th birthday celebration.
It is noteworthy, that Rt. Hon. Ihedioha, a founding member of our party, a visionary leader, over the years, has remained consistent, loyal and committed to our party.
Through dint of hard work and dexterity, you left indelible marks in the nation’s political history as Chairman, House Committee on Marine Transport; Chief Whip of the House, Deputy Speaker and Speaker of the House. Till date, your achievements dot our landscape across the three Zones of Imo State.
In 2019, as our governorship flag bearer, you not only led a grassroots-based campaign that resulted in the landslide victory for our party, you laid a solid foundation for the rebuilding of our State.
Through your transition technical programme, you mobilised the Imo intelligentsia, to develop a framework of your vision for our State.
Under your governance, salaries and pensions were restored and paid as and when due. Quality road projects were initiated and were ongoing. Technical Colleges, Youths and Sports Development were given adequate attention. An agricultural revolution was embarked upon. Due process, rule of law, transparency, accountability and the Treasury Single Account (TSA) were institutionalized.
The implementation of autonomy for the local government administration, is a testimony of your disposition to accountability and fiscal discipline.
You left footprints of outstanding accomplishments within the seven months of our administration. You touched the lives of Imo people. And they love you for it. Imo indeed, await your return.
