Easter: Anambra CP Assures Citizens Of Adequate Security Protection

The Anambra State Police Command wishes to assure all “Ndi Anambra” and residents alike that this year’s Easter period, like the previous ones, would be celebrated peacefully.

According to the release made public by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu Anipr PPRO Anambra State Police Command stated that the Command has prepared an elaborate operations order which effectively covers all places of worships, recreation centers, public buildings, flashpoints, black spots, and other vulnerable areas in order to ensure adequate protection of life and properties in the State.

The police warned Individuals or groups desiring and planning to truncate this noble intention to desist forthwith as any breach of the public peace will attract full wrath of the law.

DSP Ikenga Tochukwu Anipr PPRO Anambra State Police Command,fsi while wishing all Christians a happy and peaceful Easter celebration also enjoined Ndi-Anambra to use the period and pray for sustainable peace in the State and Nation at large.

The Public is assured of our commitment to ensure Safety and Security before, during and after the Easter period. He stated.

Meanwhile, In other for Oyo State residents, visitors have crime-free Easter celebrations, the Commissioner of Police in the State, Ngozi Onadeko, has ordered the deployment of 5,296 police personnel to mount security statewide.

The CP in a statement issued on Monday, March 29, 2021, by the Command spokesperson, CSP Olugbenga Fadeyi, on behalf of the Police Commissioner, also advised all Christians faithful to adhere to COVID-19 protocols in various places of worship.

She also said that effective plans had been put in place to watch over all entry and exit points and other parts of the state, through stop-and-search, effective visibility patrol, and intelligence-led raid of black spots.

The statement reads partly, “Places of worship, recreation centres, financial institutions, and other public facilities will be adequately protected.

“Members of the public are enjoined to cooperate with the police by giving out credible information, while the police personnel has been charged to be courteous and civil to members of the public while discharging their duties.
