Lai Mohammed, The Minister of Information and Culture has rejected the calls for secession, saying that more effort is needed to break Nigeria than to fix it. On Monday, Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Newsnight monitored by anaedoonline.ng, the minister said the nation’s strength lies in its diversity.“The agitation for political restructuring is okay. However, what is not okay is the call for secession or for separation,” he said.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), apex youth body of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has condemned the killing of members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) over the weekend by Nigerian security agents, describing it as hatred against Ndigbo.

The First Republic Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi has hinted on the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s Eastern Security Network, ESN, defending themselves. Amaechi said IPOB’s ESN should defend themselves if they are attacked while going about their activities in the Southeast. The nationalist, however, cautioned both IPOB and ESN to steer clear of violence in the Southeast. Amaechi, in a statement, accused security agents of igniting insecurity in the Southeast.

The managing director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Chief George Moghalu. Stated how the organization is helping to decongest the seaports. Primary Health Care (PHC) centers in the state have been warned by the Anambra state government to desist from making financial demands from patients accessing family planning services in the facilities or be sanctioned. Dr. Vincent Okpala, The Commissioner of Health gave the warning in Awka at a Media Roundtable on Family Planning organized by The Change Initiative, tagged, “Improving Access to Family Planning Services among Women of Reproductive Age in Anambra State”
