Fulani Herdsmen in Owerri have concluded plans to take over the whole city, if the words of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is to be believed. According to the separatist leader, this attempt to take over Owerri is endorsed by the Nigerian Army.
Nnamdi Kanu made this known to the whole world on Thursday, 29th April 2021. Nnamdi Kanu urged the people of Imo, most especially Owerri, to be on the alert, to observe every single movement, and to have their neighbours made aware of every issue.
Owerri, you may have known, is gradually becoming the epicentre of the insecurity challenges that the South East is facing. There has been a prison break, countless attacks on police stations, hospitals, an attack on the governor’s country home, an attempt on the government house, and clashes between security operatives and ESN. Yesterday, we reported that the city is under tension as helicopters hover close to their roofs.
The Hausa Quarters from which Nnamdi Kanu expects the attacks to be launched is under protective security surveillance as unknown gunmen have made attempts to attack the area. It is not now known how the Hausa community would launch an attack from here.

“Fulanis/Muslims in Owerri, Imo State, supported by Fulani elements from 32 Artillery Brigade Obinze, has concluded plans to start a deadly attack in Owerri, suburb, other towns in Imo. Military uniforms have been distributed to these Jihadists and terrorists from the Sahel.

“Targets are Control post, MCC Road, Fire Service, Emmanuel College Junction.
“This is an extract from the meeting they held in the mosque Tuesday, at Ama Hausa, Owerri.
“They have mobilized all their boys (shoe menders, iron condemned boys, watch sellers, etc) with small radio, phones, and airtime, weapons, arms, matches, for the mayhem.
“These boys were on the ground long ago and have provided them with information about all tracks, roads, residences of people, Churches, Schools, etc for a possible and immediate attack.
“Let everybody know this immediately. Be at alert. Observe every movement. Raise the alarm, alert neighbours.”
