Anambra 2021: I Have An Edge Over Other Gubernatorial Candidates – Nwankpo

One of the frontliners for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, under the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance Party (APGA), Akachukwu Nwankpo has reiterated his plans for ndi Anambra in the forthcoming election in the state.

Speaking during the media interactive session held last Tuesday in his country home in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, Nze Nwankpo, who expressed his unwavering and unflinching commitment and passion towards the growth and development of the state, noted that as a grass-root politician, he has all it takes to competently pilot the affairs of the state to a higher level if given mandate

Nwankpo stressed that he has an edge over other APGA gubernatorial candidates at the forthcoming party primary which has been scheduled to hold on June 23, which is barely two months from now. According to him, “I feel like I’m favoured. Beyond God’s favour is the experience. Right training was instrumental for the experience. Of all the aspirants in APGA, I’m a village guy who grew up in the village, mixing with the people for the past 3-4 years.

“Having mixed with the people, I have knowledge of real issues and on things burdening the people. I understand the potential of Anambra State and also the works done by the governor and the party he represents. I have gained experience that came from working for various governments both at state and federal levels. I have gained the trainings at public sector and when you combine it with my 15 years’ experience at the private sector, you will see that I’m better placed than other aspirants. I have a sense of the people. We should understand that power is ephemeral and should be handled with humility. So, it is what we do that matters and not the excitement we get when we get there”

Continuing, the former presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan described the seven years of Governor Willie Obiano government as a demonstration of massive show of strength, observing that no governor in history of the state has transformed the narrative of the state within seven years as Gov Obiano did.

“The most development is the impact on the personalities of ndi Anambra. He has given us our personality, where we have a voice in the global world, just like in the days of Zik, Ojukwu. We now have a voice in the world. All these developments are done under APGA governments. So APGA has opened windows of governance, it has created improved participation in politics. APGA is an example of what party politics should be because it creates a family and in that family, governance can exist, accountability can exist and other things like empowerment.

Also in politics, APGA has also adopted transparent internal democracy. That is to say, there is internal disposition of democracy in APGA government. For example, in this election, Gov. Obiano has promised all aspirants equal opportunity to contest. So Governor Obiano believes in transparency, what I may call political transparency. So APGA is the fastest growing political party to learn transparency in democratic system of government. By so doing, APGA is the faster in internal democracy than any other party” he maintained.

Nwankpo while emphasising on some of his plans and visions for ndi Anambra disclosed, ” a recreated State having a functional road network involving four-dual carriage ways cutting across the three federal corridors Enugu to Onitsha then to Owerri then to Port-Harcourt. Anambra as a commercial center having Sustainable Power and a business-friendly environment creating vast business opportunities and innovations meeting the demands of not only Africa but the world at large.

” A state with a working value system traceable to the family which is an integral part of the society. A society where parents are at the forefront in peace and conflict resolutions knowing that miscreants are also family members. Also having parents which can comfortably meet the needs of the family without being dependent on other families” he said.
