On Sunday, Ebonyi Government terrified the southeast chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for faulting the speedy formation of the state chapter of Ebubeagu, a joint security outfit for the zone. In a communiqué after its meeting in Enugu two weeks ago the opposition party had alleged among other things that Governor David Umahi recruited his political thugs into the outfit, not to protect the citizens but to use them against opposition politicians in the state.

Chimaroke Nnamani, A former Governor of Enugu State has revealed why state police will not work in Nigeria if established. Nnamani, Speaking on a program on Channels Television, ‘Sunday Politics’ monitored by Anaedoonline.ng noted that the call for state police in Nigeria as part of efforts to improve security will not yield any fruit. The Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District in the National Assembly asserted that for state police to work in Nigeria, it has to be uniform and standardized in the 36 states.

At about 623hrs of Sunday 9th of May 2021, Ozubulu Vigilantee (OVG) Office along Udoji road was attacked by a group of unknown gunmen killing one of the Vigilantee men and a suspect under custody, they also set the office and vehicles ablaze.

The spiritual director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka has apologized to the catholic church for the embarrassment his action might have brought upon them. The controversial clergyman also asked for the forgiveness of the bishop of his diocese, Callistus Onaga noting that he has made a mistake with some of his actions.
