Prince Jude Osumouh Inducted As 10th President of Nnewi Chamber Of Commerce

The commercial city of Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria, was agog on Saturday, the 15th of May 2021, when Hon. Prince Jude Osumouh FCAI, JP. was inducted as the 10th President of the Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NCCIMA) at a colourful ceremony that took place at the Conv-Aj Events Centre, Nnewi.

It was also an occasion for the Annual General Meeting and Award Presentation. Reviewing his tenure, the outgone President of NCCIMA, Mr. Ifeanyi Uzodike stated that:

“My tenure as President which started on the 12th of July 2018 should have ended around June 2020, however, it was extended by the Executive for reasons convenient to our Chamber. I must note that the Covid 19 pandemic contributed largely to the decision.

“To the glory of God, the world appears to have made significant achievements with respect to the production and availability of vaccines that could be used to treat and bring the spread under control.”

He called on members to always be prompt in the payment of their annual subscription as subscription fee is the major source of income for the Chamber.

In his acceptance speech, Rtn. Jude Osumouh expressed gratitude to God for keeping everyone alive to witness this day.

He stated that having served in various capacities in the Chamber, he is accepting the leadership of the Chamber with joy and a deep sense of humility and that he is very optimistic that his Executive and he will do everything within their powers to make sure Nnewi Chamber moved to a greater level during his tenure.

He pointed out a 7 Point Agenda which focuses on the following: Completing and moving to the permanent site, seeking collaboration with Security Stakeholders to ensure the safety of lives and properties, continuing with International Trade Fairs, and collaborating with Government and Relevant Agencies.

Others include being the voice of the Organised Private Sector and ensure that their voice is heard by encouraging good Government policies and criticizing bad policies of Government, to keep the pace in terms of organizing Seminars/Workshops and promised to sustain such programs like Economic Summit, Skills Development, and other Empowerment Programs, and finally to embark on membership drive by extending coverage to other business communities like: Ekwuluobia, Nnobi, Ihiala and so on.

The Highpoint of the ceremony was the Investiture proper of Rtn. Prince Jude Osumouh as the 10th President of Nnewi Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture amidst pomp, pageantry and applause by the South East President of Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi. The newly inducted President was thereafter mandated to induct his Executives, which he did with grace and candour. Among those that graced the occasion were: Dr. Cletus Ibeto, Hon Chris Azubogu Rt. Hon. Hon. Smart Nonso Okafor, and Chukwudi Orizu,

Others include, Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi, Prince Samben Nwosu, Elder Soge Egbuna, Chief Dr. Maduka Atueyi, Crown Prince Obi Orizu, Sir Robert Anwatu, Engr. Linus Ilozue, Dr. Emeka Ayabazu, Chief Ifeanyi Ekwulugo, Mr. Cornel Osigwe among others.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye the CEO of JUHEL Pharmaceuticals, while the Guest Speaker was Sir Orji Udemezue.
