Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero, has agreed on personal terms with Barcelona to join the Blaugrana in the summer transfer window, according to Catalan outlet Beteve.

Barcelona hierarchy has tabled a €5 million-per-year (£4.3m-per-year) contract, which will keep Aguero at the LaLiga giants until 2023.

Aguero’s arrival at Barcelona would come as a major boost to the club’s president, Joan Laporta, as he continues to try and convince captain Lionel Messi to stay at Camp Nou.

Aguero and Messi are close friends from their time with the Argentina national football team ranging from youth level to featuring alongside each other in the 2014 World Cup final in Brazil.

Aguero will leave Man City at the expiry of his contract this summer after a decade at Etihad.

A number of Premier League clubs were believed to be weighing up swoops for the Argentine international after he announced his departure in March.
