On Thursday 3rd June 2021, Abdurrahman Sumaila, A former presidential aide, said no right-thinking Nigerian would support an Igbo presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

The former Special Assistant President Muhammadu Buhari on Assembly Matters stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Kano.

“With these atrocities committed by the South-East people on record, how can Nigerians entrust them to govern us? Sumaila further stated that it is now clear that the motive behind the attacks is to turn Nigeria into anarchy, regretting that “the perpetrators of the attacks must understand that if the country is turned chaotic, then nobody including the perpetrators can escape”.

He charged leaders in the South-East to address the attacks carried out by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra publicly or be considered complicit in the dastardly act.
