Last night, 4th June 2021, a lorry full of cows was involved in an accident at Akwata Junction in Awka. The accident occurred after the lorry had a brake failure and the driver lost control of it.
Out of control, in full speed with the weight of all the cows, the heavy-duty vehicle rammed into other cars, destroyed a couple of them and killed a couple of passersby.
The crowd that gathered soon became an angry mob and charged at the driver and other occupiers of the lorry. They beat up the driver, the conductor, and others in the vehicle. They didn’t stop there: They set the lorry on fire.
