One Adesina Adebowale has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for reportedly raping a 60-year-old woman.
Anaedoonline.ng reports that the 40-year-old Adebowale was nabbed on Sunday following a complaint lodged at Idanyin police station by the son of the victim.
The son had told the police that at about 4pm, while his mother was in her apartment, the suspect broke in and had sex with her forcefully.
“Upon the report, the DPO of Idanyin division, CSP Olayinka Kuye, detailed his detectives to go after the suspect. He was subsequently traced and apprehended, while the victim was quickly taken to hospital for medical treatment,” Ogun police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement on Monday.

Oyeyemi said the suspect had made confessional statements indicating he actually committed the crime.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to state CIID criminal for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
