Two people have been injured as a bomb exploded inside a Catholic church in the city of Beni in DR Congo’s conflict-plagued east on Sunday. The head of police in Beni’s town hall Narcisse Muteba Kashale told Newsmen that the explosion occuured just an hour before a children’s confirmation ceremony was due to be held.

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has reaffirmed that Ebubeagu security outfit will not go after politicians but hoodlums and bandits that are wreaking havoc to the people of the state. Umahi equally stated that his administration approved the sum of six hundred million naira (N600,000,000) for the construction of residential quarters for security officers in twelve out of the thirteen local government areas of the state.

The secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) board of trustees, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has defected from the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Shinkafi who is also a former governorship candidate in Zamfara and immediate past National Secretary of APGA announced his defection to the ruling party in a letter to the National Secretary of APGA.

The founder of Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has narrated how he escaped death after a Cobra was found in his office. The Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church said he had been working in the office for several hours before the deadly reptile was found in his wardrobe.

Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has reacted to the emergence of Valentine Ozigbo as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November 6 poll in Anambra State. Anaedoonline.ng reports that Ozigbo polled 62 votes to defeat other aspirants, and emerged as the candidate of the party at Prof Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre on Saturday.
