JUST IN: IPOB Members To Storm Court Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Arrest

On Wednesday, 30th June 2021, The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has mobilized its members to attend Kanu’s next court hearing scheduled for July 26th in Abuja.

This was contained in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Emma Powerful on Wednesday. The statement read in part;

“IPOB will not relent in the pursuit of Biafra freedom. We have crossed the Rubicon in our struggle for the restoration of Biafran Sovereignty. There is no going back no matter the level of intimidation by our oppressors,”.

Powerful added that ‘nothing must happen to their leader’.

“Our Leader can never be coerced into abandoning the struggle for Biafra restoration irrespective of the circumstance. At this very challenging moment in the history of our march to freedom, all IPOB family members must stand firm and resolute behind our selfless leader.”

He added that Kanu deserves justice and a fair hearing in his trial. Kanu is facing an 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, and illegal possession of firearms. The charge of treasonable felony carries the death penalty.

Kanu fled Nigeria in 2017 and has been on the run until his re-arrest on Sunday, June 27th.
