An Ikeja Special Offences Court, on Tuesday, sentenced one Afeez Ogunbowale,a student of Lagos State University, LASU, to 21 years’ imprisonment for raping two fellow students. The prosecution counsel, Mrs. O.A Bajulaiye-Bishi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences alongside other culprits who are at large, on April 18, 2018, at the Okokomaiko area of Lagos.

Omoyele Sowore, an Ex-AAC Presidential candidate, has yet again claimed that Nnamdi Kanu was kidnapped and not arrested in the United Kingdom as widely claimed. Sowore in a statement via his Facebook page claimed that Kanu was abducted by Nigerian security agents.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the Apex-Igbo organization, has reacted to the capture of fugitive IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Ohanaeze in a statement on Tuesday afternoon, praised the arrest of Kanu adding that it has brought an ‘end to violent agitations in the country.

Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters publisher and Ex-AAC Presidential aspirant, has called for the release of the captured leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. Sowore, in a statement via his social media page on Tuesday, called on the Nigerian Government to release Kanu adding that agitations for self-determination are not a crime.

The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan has announced that the debate on the report of its joint committees on Petroleum (Upstream, Downstream, and Gas) on the Petroleum Industry Bill will be held on Thursday. Senator Lawan disclosed this on Tuesday after the chairman of the panel, Senator Mohammed Sabo (Jigawa South West) submitted the committees’ report.
