On Friday 16th July 2021, The Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, withdrew its suit against the Zamfara State Deputy Governor Alhaji Mahadi Aliyu Gusau over the defection of the governor, Bello Matawalle to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Matawalle had on June 29 officially dumped the PDP for the APC.

However, Matawalle and Gusau were sued as co-defendants in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/489/202, despite the fact that the Deputy Governor remains a PDP member.

The suits were filed by two PDP members from Zamfara State, Sani Kaura Ahmed, and Abubakar Muhammed.
