Operatives of the Nigeria Police on Monday dispersed some members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) gathered near the Federal High Court in Abuja for the trial of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The IPOB members had stormed the court in solidarity with their leader who is expected in court today.
As the number of IPOB supporters increased, policemen moved in and chased them away from the place.
As at the time of filing this report, Kanu who is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) was yet to be brought to court.

However, there is heavy security presence at the court preparatory to the arrival of the detained IPOB leader who is expected to resume trial for an 11-count charge of treason, treasonable felony, terrorism, and illegal possession of firearms, among others brought against him by the federal government of Nigeria.
Similarly, heavily armed security operatives have barricaded all access routes to the court premises which is beside the Federal Ministry of Justice.
Meanwhile, the Department of State Security Services (DSS) has approved a few media houses o cover the trial of the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
A document shows that the 10 journalists accredited for the coverage of the trial, was signed by Catherine Oby Christopher, Chief Information Officer, Federal High Court of Nigeria, and dated July 23, 2021.
