President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with the service chiefs at the State House, Abuja, after an 18-day break in London, during which he attended an education summit and did health checks.
The security chiefs have in the past weeks extensively engaged insurgents, bandits, and their ilk, leading to massive surrendering.
The parley is to speed up developments and activate a decisive end to the problem.
This comes, as the Nigerian Army said no fewer than 1,000 Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) members had laid down their arms.

The military said the repented terrorists would be reintegrated in deference to extant laws.
