Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who recently ditched the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) says he is excited being in his new party.

While insisting that his decision to join the ruling party was the right one, the erstwhile critic of President Muhammadu Buhari said he was in APC to “to move the party forward, to build bridges in this country across all lines and to ensure Nigeria is together”.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that Fani-Kayode spoke on Monday, when he visited the Abuja home of Senator Orji Kalu, the Chief Whip of the Senate. He visited alongside the Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa, and a member of the House of Representatives, Sani Maruf.

He described Kalu as one of the great architects of Nigeria, disclosing that his friendship ties with Kalu dates back to 40 years.

Fani-Kayode said, “I remember our very first encounter many years ago. We have been talking throughout and you have shown me so much friendship, the cause we are taking is the best way to move our country forward.

“Honestly speaking we are brothers for over 40 years which many people don’t know, I am glad to be where I am now.”

In his response, Kalu thanked Fani-kayode for the visit, disclosing that he has always asked him to join the APC and he is glad he eventually did.

“I am very happy that you are back home and I assure you that APC is a party for all of us,” Kalu said.
