The inability of the Police to respond to the incessant attacks by unknown gunmen in Anambra state has been attributed to lack of patrol and operational vehicles by the police. This was made known by an anonymous police officer to Anaedoonline on enquiry about the lack of Police response to the recent attacks taking place at different communities in Anambra state and mainly in Nnewi.

According to the police officer speaking exclusively to Anaedoonline “The police is yet to recover from the destruction of its patrol and operational vehicles during the #Endsars saga; if you would recall, a majority of the police stations were burnt down, including our operational vehicles and even our ammunitions were looted by hoodlums.

The stations has been rebuilt, but we are yet to get operational vehicles to function effectively; we have pleaded with the government to intervene, but we are yet to see any meaningful result. I assure you that once we are provided with patrol and operational vehicles, the police will reduce these attacks to the bearest minimum”.

Anaedoonline has reported various attacks that has taken place in recent weeks and which the police have failed to adequately quench and it seems that the attacks are increasing day by day, and people are now afraid to go out freely or even travel outside the community.
