FG amended the charge, barely 24 hours to the scheduled commencement of hearing by trial Justice Binta Nyako.

The court had on December 2, fixed 18, 19 and 20 January to hear some pending applications, including the one Kanu filed to be discharged and acquitted.

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Monday, Sowore condemned the Muhammadu Buhari government over the fresh terrorism charge filed against Kanu, describing the new charge as frivolous.

He alleged that the government carried out a terrorist act by kidnapping Kanu from Kenya and whisking him back to Nigeria.

He wrote: “#FreeNnamdiKanu A government of terrorists filing frivolous terrorism charges when they are the ones that carried out a terrorist act by kidnapping Kanu from Kenya and extraordinarily “renditioning” to Nigeria! #RevolutionNow.”
