Explosion Rocks Oil Company in Delta

Terrible fire incident has just occured in Ukpokiti Terminal of Warri in Delta state.

The fire outbreak is said to be traceable to explosion from Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel with a capacity to process up to 22,000 barrels of oil per day, and store 2 million barrels of oil.

The FPSO vessel is said to be that of Shebah Exploration and Production Company Limited (SEPCOL) which is located at Escravos area of the state.

The company, through its Chief Executive Officer, Ikemefuna Okafor, stated that there were ten seamen on the shore when the unfortunate incident occured.

According to him, investigations are still ongoing to ascertain the cause of the inferno; he however, stated that no casualty has been recorded so far.
