Top Nnewi business leader and manufacturer, Chief Sir. Dr. Cletus Ibeto (Omekannaya) has been appointed to spearhead the building committee for Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral Okwuani, Nnewi.
Anaedoonline.ng gathered that the new Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye, who is determined to see to the completion of the Cathedral, appointed Chief Ibeto as the Building Committee Chairman, mandating the committee to complete the Cathedral before twelve (12) Months.
Although other members of the committee is unknown at the time of writing, our correspondent learnt that the members of the committee who are men and women of value and influence were drawn from different communities under the Nnewi Catholic Diocese.
Nnewi Catholic Diocese Takes Over Construction Of Cathedral From Senator Ifeanyi Ubah
Chief Cletus Ibeto, CON, who was the Chairman of the Installation reception of the new Bishop, is expected to mobilize funds from prominent Catholic faithfuls across and beyond the Diocese to ensure speedy completion.
The Nnewi-born Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Ibeto Group, the largest conglomerate in the Eastern part of Nigeria, has also promised the Bishop that he will do everything possible to ensure the quick completion of the Cathedral which have been under construction for the past twelve (12) years.
It will be recalled that earlier in the week that Anaedoonline.ng reported that Nnewi Catholic Diocese has taken over the construction of Cathedral from Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Cathedral which is being single-handedly built by Senator Ifeanyi Ubah after he demolished the former cathedral collectively built by the Diocese, has been under construction in the last twelve (12) years.
