Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of attempting to destroy Ukrainians and their history.
In a video, Zelensky stated that a missile assault by Russian soldiers on a Holocaust murder site demonstrates that Russians are unaware of the history of Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital.
“For many people in Russia, our Kyiv seems entirely foreign,” stated Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko in a statement.

“They have no knowledge of our capital or our history.” However, they have been given orders to obliterate our past, our nation, and us all.”
In a related development, the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko on Tuesday vowed to fight against Russian troops to protect their people from further attack.
The heavyweight champion who took up arms with his brother, Wladimir Klitschko last Friday noted that they are ready to die protecting Ukraine.
Klitschko stated this during an interview with CNN where he addressed Russia’s invasion of the neighbouring country.
He further stated that the people of Ukraine would not allow the President of Russia, Putin gain access to their homes and take away their heritage.

Klitschko when asked how long Kyiv can hold out said, “I’m not ready to give you a clear answer. So long, so long time, if we’re still alive.”
