Oluwabamise: BRT Suspend Operations Leaving Lagosians Stranded

On Tuesday, Lagosians were left stranded as the state’s Bus Rapid Transit system was shut down.

Following the horrible murder of Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who was abducted and killed after boarding a BRT car last week, Anaedoonline.ng learnt that Primero, one of the companies in charge of the BRT in the state, made the decision.

According to a Primero official, BRT operations in the state have been halted due to threats against its buses and employees.

Due to the sad occurrence, BRT buses have been moved from their terminals across the state, he added.

However, a Primero official stated that BRT service will be restored as soon as the state government dealt with the issue.

However, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed regret for the 22-year-death old’s on Monday.

In an Instagram post, Sanwo-Olu stated that the government values the lives of Lagosians and would not take their security for granted.

He pledged to leave no stone unturned in the inquiry and arrest of anyone implicated in Ayanwole’s killing.
