President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, according to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, are wonderful models of strong leadership since they have worked together for the past seven years despite their religious differences.

Osinbajo’s spokeswoman, Laolu Akande, said in a statement on Sunday that the vice president revealed this when he met with Sheikh Mahi Ibrahim Niass, the Grand Khalifa of the Tijjaniya movement from Senegal, in the presidential residence on Saturday.

Religion, he believes, should be utilized to promote peace and harmony, and it also plays an important part in human growth.

“President Buhari is a devout Muslim, and I am a pastor; we’ve worked together for almost seven years, and we’ve had no problems,” Osinbajo added.

“The President has demonstrated wonderful leadership; he has demonstrated that he desires a society in which people of many religions live in peace and affection for one another.

“We must use our beliefs to help our people achieve peace and prosperity.” To guarantee that our people benefit from religion, we must work together. We tend to overlook the relevance of religion, despite the fact that it plays a critical role in the growth of society, not just spiritually but also physically.

“There are many nations of the world that have benefitted from the impact of religion both spiritually and physically. So, we must use religion in our countries (in Africa) to help our people to live better lives because, in other parts of the world, leaders of faith have used religion to better the lives of the people.

“No matter what the situation may be, we in Africa must be able to sit together and talk. We must never allow situations where we cannot sit together. With what is going on across the world, people of faith must continue to emphasize that both major religions (Islam and Christianity) promote peace and we must allow our people to practice whatever religion they want to practice.”
