Governor Soludo Meets Market, Transport Union Leaders In Anambra State, Resolves To End Sit-At-Home In Anambra

Governor Chukwuma Soludo convened a town hall meeting with all market leaders in all Anambra markets, as well as leaders of the state’s several transport unions.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, and security agencies were among those who attended the meeting, which took place at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka.

While speaking to the crowd, Governor Soludo stated that his administration has big plans for all Anambra markets.

Soludo Gives Update On Discussion With IPOB Over Sit-at-home Order

The Governor, who stated that market leaders and transporters are important stakeholders in the new Anambra project, stated that the commercial sector dominates Anambra’s economy.

He reaffirmed his commitment to cleaning up all of the markets, but emphasized that everyone must work together to restore Anambra to its former glory.

He stated that his administration will evaluate market leadership and the park management system, as well as restore Onitsha’s master plan.

The Governor expressed remorse for people erecting structures against the state’s physical design and stated that his administration will not tolerate such primitive behavior.

In the interest of the state, the Governor promised to hold a free, fair, and open election in all markets and to evaluate their terms of reference next year.

Governor Soludo stated that the goal is to make conducting business in Anambra a pleasant experience, emphasizing that the Monday sit-at-home should be ended as a means of attaining that goal, but that his government is ready to negotiation in the event of a breakdown.

Governor Soludo, who claims that every Monday sit-at-home costs Anambra 19.6 billion naira, claims that there are better methods to channel protests and agitations than enduring the Innocent.

Governor Soludo, who stated that there is no conflict that can’t be resolved through dialogue in good faith, reaffirmed his government’s commitment to restore peace and security in Anambra as soon as possible, and called for the active cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders, even as he harped on the need for those in the bush to lay down their arms and join in the construction of the state.

At the conference, it was unanimously decided that from April 4, 2022, all Anambra marketplaces and highways shall be bustling with normal business activity.

In a vote of gratitude, Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, President of the Anambra Amalgamated Traders Association, ASMATA, stated that they will continue to support the government’s policies and programs aimed at making Anambra a more livable environment.
