Mrs Patience Ibrahim, a married woman, has taken her husband, Mr Talpha Atega, to a Customary Court in Jikwoyi, Abuja, for referring to her as a snake from the sea kingdom.

Atega said in court that her husband frequently referred to her as a snake and failed to fulfill his obligations as a spouse.

“My spouse refused to take responsibility in the house as a husband and father; I am the one doing everything – house duties, house rent payment, feeding, and everything else,” she claims.

”I want a divorce; I cannot continue to live with someone who has this kind of notion about me.”

She also prayed the court not to grant custody of their child to her husband on grounds of him having questionable morals.

However, the accused denied the allegations brought against him and urged the court not to give in to his wife’s demand for a divorce.

The Judge, Mr Labaran Gusau, adjourned the matter until March 30, for judgment.
