Innoson Vehicles Production (IVM), a Nigerian automaker, has announced intentions to open a new manufacturing unit in Owerri, Imo State.

On Friday, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of the Innoson Group, revealed the information while giving members of the Correspondents’ Chapel a facilities tour of his business in Nnewi, Anambra.

The present growth effort, according to Chukwuma, is aimed at realizing the group’s purpose of becoming a behemoth in African car production by meeting the country’s and continent’s vehicle demands.

He thanked the media for their unwavering support and collaboration with his organization.

Mr Cornel Osigwe, Head, Corporate Communications, Innoson Delegation, who guided the group through the facilities, expressed delight at Gov. Charles Soludo’s support of the Innoson vehicle as the state’s official vehicle.

Gov. Soludo’s support, according to Osigwe, demonstrated the vehicle’s longevity and capability.

“Gov. Soludo is the first governor to employ Innoson cars as his official vehicle, and we hope that his endorsement will encourage other state governments, business organizations, and well-meaning Nigerians to do the same.”

“You are breaking grounds in the automobile industry and contributing to the economy of the state and country at large. It is commendable and worthy of emulation.
