Unknown Gunmen Attack Two Commercial Buses, Kidnap Travelers In Rivers

During an assault on two commercial buses in Rivers State, an unknown number of passengers were kidnapped.

The buses were assaulted near Degema/Buguma/Abonnema Road on the East/West road in the state on Monday, sparking tension in the area, according to Anaedoonline.ng.

Before the event, the buses were claimed to be traveling from Port-Harcourt to the Kalabari riverine axis in Degema, Asaritoru, and Akukutoru Local Government Councils.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, has demanded that all arrested bandits and terrorists, as well as their sponsors, be prosecuted immediately.

The monarch claimed that the Federal Government’s refusal to prosecute the terrorists has empowered them to continue carrying out assaults and killings in the country’s north.

Over the country’s rampant insecurity, Abubakar demanded the resignations of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, and the service chiefs.

On Monday, the Sultan made these remarks during a security conversation retreat hosted by the Global Peace Foundation and Vision Africa in Abuja.
