Atiku Abubakar, a presidential candidate running on the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) platform, has rejected accusations that he was ignored by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State during his weekend consultation visit.

Despite photographs of Atiku and Makinde on social media, sources say that the 2019 presidential contender, who was on a tour of the Southwest meeting with party delegates ahead of the party’s primary elections, did not get to see the Oyo State Governor.

Despite the fact that his schedule said that he was to meet with Atiku Abubakar after exiting Abeokuta, Ogun State, Makinde is claimed to have snubbed him.

Atiku met with delegates in Lagos State on Friday after meeting with Chief Olabode George at his Ikoyi office, and then continued on to Abeokuta to meet with delegates from Ogun State.

Despite the fact that media had been told to be on standby for the meeting, the former Vice President was apparently unable to meet Makinde.

“Media claims that Gov @seyiamakinde shunned H.E @atiku during his consultative trip to Oyo State are not accurate,” Paul Ibe, Atiku’s Senior Special Adviser on Media, said in response to the news.

“The two leaders met Sunday morning before Atiku’s departure to Osogbo, and they had a good meeting focused on building unity for both @OfficialPDPNig and Nigeria.”
