A confrontation between traders and commercial motorcyclists, known as Okada riders, is said to have murdered a number of persons in Dei Dei, a town in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Anaedoonline.ng learned that shops, residences, and cars were set fire in the ensuing mayhem.

According to Newsmen, the conflict was caused by an accident involving a commercial motorcycle.

“Attack between traders and Okada riders in a very large market in Nigeria’s Federal Capital City, Abuja.”
“I’m not sure how many people have been killed right now,” he stated.

Following the alleged irresponsible riding of the commercial motorbike she had taken, a vehicle allegedly crushed a lady to death.

When the tragedy happened, the deceased Igbo woman was claimed to be riding a bike.
An eyewitness told Newsmen, “She died while being transported to the hospital.”

The accident prompted other local shopkeepers to chase down the motorcycle and burn it on fire.
Commercial motorcyclists in the region responded with retaliation.

The out-of-control commercial motorcycles allegedly blocked the road and assaulted cars.

Many cars and establishments were alleged to have been burned and damaged, notably those selling building supplies.

According to a source, other churches were also targeted, with several people injured.

To avoid being caught up in the chaos, motorists were compelled to use alternate routes.

As of the time of filing this story, security operatives had been deployed to the area to restore law and order.

“The agitated youths who witnessed this burnt the motorcycle at building materials market in Dei-Dei, Abuja. As at the time of filing this report, the police are already at the scene and trying to quell the situation,” one of the eyewitnesses said.
