2023: See What Atiku Told Wike, Saraki, Others After Emerging As PDP Presidential Candidate

After winning the Peoples Democratic Party presidential primary election, Atiku Abubakar addressed a message to his fellow candidates.

As previously reported by Anaedoonline.ng, the former Vice President defeated Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and others to clinch the PDP ticket.

Governor Wike came in second with 237 votes, followed by him with 371 votes.

In his acceptance address, the presidential candidate urged the other candidates to join him in taking the party to new heights and ensuring that the PDP retakes power in next year’s election.

He said, “I commended their courage and gallantry. This has indeed deepened our democracy.

“I am ready to cooperate and work with them and give them a sense of belonging. I appreciate their efforts and I look forward to working with them.”

Atiku also pledged to unify the country following his victory in the party’s primary election.

He said: “I pledge to unify this country. That’s why I refer to myself as a unifier.

“The reason I feel that unity is important is that APC has disunited Nigerians completely.

“I will work to restore unity and bring a sense of belonging to all Nigerians.”

He also accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of mismanaging the country but promised to fix the economy and tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.

“The PDP made Nigeria one of the most prosperous countries in Africa. We implemented economic reforms. The APC wiped out all those gains.”
