Deji Adeyanju, the political activist and organizer of the Concerned Nigerian movement, has demanded the ouster of Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman.

In a tweet published on Tuesday, Adeyanju backed Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, and his backers in their call for Ayu to step down.

Adeyanju claimed that Ayu presided over the most dishonest congresses and primary elections in the party’s history.

He questioned why the president-elect, BoT chairman, and party chairman would all be from the North.

According to Adeyanju’s perspective, Ayu must leave because the primary opposition is not a northern party.

There had been calls for Ayu to step down from office following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar, who is a northerner as the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections.

Adeyanju while reacting to the call for Ayu’s removal wrote, “I agree with Gov Wike and his supporters that Ayu must go.

“The PDP chairman organized the most corrupt congresses and party primaries in the history of the party.

“Also to add:
Chairman BoT: North;
PDP Chairman: North;
Presidential Candidate: North.
It’s not a Northern party.”
