In a few hours, President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja to travel to Dakar, Senegal, for the International Development Association (IDA) for Africa Summit.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the World Bank Group’s IDA institution explained how its historic $93 billion 20th replenishment cycle (IDA20), which runs from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2025, will help countries affected by the impact of the war in Ukraine and other recent global crises like COVID-19, rising levels of insecurity, and climate change recover more quickly.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama; Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; and Industry, Trade, and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, will travel with the President.

Other members of the entourage include Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Amb. Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Patience Oniha, Director-General of the Debt Management Office, and Olukayode Pitan, Managing Director of the Bank of Industry.

At the conclusion of the Summit on Thursday, July 7, President Buhari is anticipated to return to the nation.
